Making its European debut at the 2013 Frankfurt motor show in September is the aggressive-looking Subaru WRX concept. First shown at the New York motor show earlier in 2013, the low-slung four-door breathed life back into the idea of future hot Imprezas, but UK enthusiasts were set to miss out. Spy shots of bewinged test mules at the Nurburgring have appeared, but Subaru confirmed it had no plans to replace the outgoing WRX STI once stock ran out.

The new 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish – Project Am 310 from Villa D’Este – has been caught on video in Italy in production guise. The story of the replacement for the Aston Martin DBS – which we now know is to be the new Aston Martin Vanquish – has been playing out over the last month or so. We reported at the start of May that the DBS name would be dropped and then exclusively revealed that it would debut at Villa D’Este as the Project Am 310 to try and mop up the honours in the Concept Category (it actually lost out to the Alfa 4C).

The De Tomaso Concept is now the De Tomaso SLS Concept It’s taken a lot of years for someone with a decent level of backing to take on the De Tomaso brand once again. But octegenarian Gian Mario Rossignolo – former Fiat Exec – has risen to the challenge. The shame is he’s chosen a rather odd route to resurrection for a marque best known for combining American muscle with Italian flair – the crossover.
